3 Gorgeous Picture Books

Happy New Year, teachers! New year? New picture books! Here are three visually beautiful new books I got this year. For many of us teachers of young children, a picture book is the perfect motivation for creating a lesson. I looked at these books online, ordered them and cannot wait to delve into them deeper to create lessons inspired by them.
Rosie Revere, Engineer written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts promises to be as good as my other favorite by this author-illustrator duo, Iggy Peck, Architect. I love that a female protagonist is starring!

Green written and illustrated by Laura Vaccaro Seeger will be a great companion to a lesson on tints and shades in the early fall or spring. These lush, painterly pages make me want to get out my oils!

The Animal Book: A Collection of the Fastest, Fiercest, Toughest, Cleverest, Shyest--and Most Surprising--Animals on Earth written and illustrated by Steve Jenkins will be a great backup book to have when there are 5-10 extra minutes with a class and their teacher is nowhere in sight! If you are new to Littles you should know that they LOVE animals.

I hope to post this year with lessons inspired by these 3 gorgeous picture books. Let me know if you have any ideas or lessons you have done based on these books!
